Time to Heal Read online

“Oh!” Emmeline put her hands to her suddenly full and aching breasts. “Oh no—I didn’t expect it to happen so soon! It hurts, Skahr—what can I do?”

To her surprise, he didn’t seem worried in the least.

“I know what to do for you, delora,” he growled softly.

In a move so sudden it surprised her, he sat up and put his arms around her.

Emmeline bit back a little moan as the change in position made his shaft shift inside her. He was still rock-hard, she noted and didn’t show any signs of going soft, for all that he had filled her with so much of his seed.

Though it had surprised her, she found she liked this new position. She was no longer sitting astride him so much as she was sitting in his lap and cradled in his arms. It felt closer—more intimate.

But no matter how nice it was to feel so close to the big Kindred, the fact remained that her breasts were full and getting fuller all the time. She well-remembered the sensation from when she’d had milk for Jamie but this seemed different somehow. For one thing, her nipples had never tingled like they did now and for another her breasts had never been quite so full before. It really was getting acutely uncomfortable.

“Skahr,” she pleaded, looking into his eyes. “Skahr, please help me—it hurts.”

“It won’t hurt for long,” he assured her in a deep growl. And then he took her right nipple in his mouth and began to suck as he once more began to stroke inside her.

“Oh!” she gasped as pleasure arched through her again. With each deep pull of his mouth on her breast, she felt as though she was reaching the peak again. And while he sucked, he continued to thrust long and slow and deep inside her, making her inner muscles clench as though she was begging for even more of his seed.

Maybe I am, Emmeline thought deliriously. Oh God, I just don’t want him to stop—don’t want it end!

Later, she didn’t know how long it lasted. She only knew that it was slower the second time they made love—slower and sweeter as Skahr cradled her in his arms and sucked the healing nectar from her breasts as he pumped deep in her pussy.

It felt so good that she reached the peak over and over, crying his name each time and moving with his slow, deliberate rhythm as he filled her with his seed again and again.

But at last her breasts were empty—for the present, anyway—and Emmeline felt as though she was all worn out.

“Enough,” she whispered to Skahr, who was still rocking slowly within her. “Please, I…I can’t take anymore.”

“All right, delora.” Smoothly, he withdrew from her but didn’t let her go. Instead, he pulled her closer and kissed her mouth slowly but with deep, possessive passion.

“Oh, Skahr,” she sighed, nuzzling against him when the kiss finally broke. “That was…amazing. I finally understand what love is supposed to be like. I feel so close to you.” She looked up at him shyly. “I’ve never felt this close to anyone before.”

“That’s because you’re mine now,” he growled softly, looking into her eyes. “I’ve Claimed you—as much as I can without giving you the Sacred Kiss.” He stroked a strand of hair out of her eyes and looked at her earnestly. “Let me give it to you now, delora. Let me lap your sweet pussy and make you mine forever.”

Emmeline bit her lip. She wanted so badly to let him do as he asked—to form the bond that would tie them together forever. But how could they? They had to go back to their separate worlds when this was over, didn’t they? They couldn’t stay together.

“I wish I could,” she said slowly. “But Skahr, what about our worlds? Don’t we have to go back? Wouldn’t leaving one for the other create some kind of…I don’t know, some kind of imbalance?”

He sighed deeply and a troubled look came over his face.

“I’m afraid you may be right, though I am tempted to say I do not care.” He hugged her tightly. “I don’t want to lose you, Emmeline. I care for you too much.”

“I don’t want to lose you, either,” she said gently. There was a lump in her throat and she felt like she might cry. “But I don’t know what would happen if we tried to stay together. I don’t belong in your world and you certainly don’t belong in mine.”

He sighed. “In that you are more than correct.” Cupping her cheek, he kissed her gently. “All right, I won’t give you the Sacred Kiss,” he rumbled. “But I will hold you in my arms tonight—though it may be the only night I get to do so.”

Emmeline nodded and smiled at him shyly.

  “I…I’d like that.”

“Good.” He sighed and pulled her down to the thin sleeping fur with him. Then wrapped her in his arms and tucked her head under his chin. “Sweet dreams, delora. Though I don’t know how they could be sweeter than the night we just shared.”

“I agree.” Emmeline snuggled against him with a sigh. She felt tears threaten at the thought of losing him—of leaving him—but she pushed them away. For tonight she would just let herself enjoy being held in his arms. And she swore to herself she wouldn’t think—or dream—of anything else.

“Skahr, wake up! Wake up—it’s important.”

  “Hmm?”

Skahr blinked the sleep out of his eyes and looked up to see Emmeline sitting beside him. She was still naked in the early morning light and he couldn’t help thinking all over again how gorgeous her full curves were. But there was an anxious expression on her face that made him focus on how she was feeling over how she looked.

“They’ve shrunk,” she said, looking more anxious than ever.

“What is it? What’s wrong?” He sat up and gave her a worried frown. “What are you talking about?”

“They’ve shrunk,” she said again and gestured at the leather clothing she had been wearing—clothing Talli had loaned her, Skahr remembered.

“You mean the magic which resized them has worn off?” he asked. It was true that Emmeline had much fuller and more generous curves than Talli. If the clothing had gone back to the other girl’s size, there was no way Emmeline would fit into it.

“Yes, that’s exactly what I mean!” She looked so upset that Skahr put a gentle hand on her shoulder to try and calm her.

“Please don’t worry, delora—I have the means to make them fit you again. I promise you will not have to go naked through the forest.”

“You don’t understand!” She shrugged off his hand impatiently. “If the magic on my clothes has worn off, what about the healing magic you put on Jamie? It must be worn off too! What if he’s already sick again? What if he…he’s…” Her eyes filled with tears and she obviously couldn’t go on.

“I understand your fear,” Skahr said quietly. “Though I will tell you that healing magic lasts longer than common household spells like the re-sizing one Talli put on your garments.”

As he spoke, he reached for some magic dust and sprinkled it over the leather clothing while reciting a simple re-sizing spell. At once the top and skirt grew back to the size they had been for Emmeline—but she did not look appeased at all.

“I don’t care what you say.” Her voice was tight as she pulled on the leather clothing with quick, jerky movements. “Something’s wrong back in my world—something to do with Jamie. I can feel it.”

  Skahr nodded gravely.

  “Then we must go back.”

“What?” Her head jerked up and she looked at him uncertainly. “What did you say?”

“I said we must go back to your world,” Skahr told her. “If you feel that something is wrong, we have to check the situation.”

“Really?” She looked at him hopefully. “But, well…I haven’t healed the Peace Crystal yet.”

He frowned. “And do you honestly think that you could heal it now, when you’re worried about Jamie?”

“Well…” She hesitated. “I just feel like I haven’t fulfilled my end of the bargain.”

“Don’t worry about that,” Skahr told her. “We’ll go back to your world and you can heal your baby. Then he sh
