Taking Shots Page 122
Shea was leaning against the wall by the elevators when Elli stepped out. He was wearing a nice button down grey dress shirt and black dress pants. His hair was sexily tousled and he had a trouble looked on his face, which meant he was thinking about their conversation that happened on the beach just as much as she was.
She didn’t want their discussion to spoil their night, so she gave him a seductive grin before pressing her body against his, claiming his mouth with her own. At first she was kissing him, but he soon joined in, wrapping her up in his arms, taking over the kiss as she pressed into him harder. When she felt his hands slide down to her ass, squeezing it lightly, she grinned against his lips before taking his bottom lip between her teeth. This time he gave her a sexy grin, before wrapping his arms around her tighter.
“We aren’t going to make it into the lounge if you keep at it.”
“Maybe that’s what I want.”
He gave her a skeptical look just as Bryan’s booming voice interrupted what could have been the start to a very great night.
“Eleanor, what in the good Lord’s name are you doing!?” Elli stepped back, rolling her eyes.
“Obviously I’m making out with my boyfriend against a wall, Papa!”
“Well, Jesus, honey. Can you not do it in plain view of my team?”
Elli’s and Shea’s eyes cut to the lobby where most of the guys stood, gawking and laughing their ass off.
“Sorry,” Elli said, pulling at the bottom of her dress.
“I’m going up to my room; I’ll be waiting for you.”
“Cock blocker,” Shea whispered against the back of her neck as Bryan walked away, causing Elli to burst out in a fit of giggles.
“For once I couldn’t agree with you more,” Elli said as she looked back at him. He gave her a cocky grin before kissing her cheek and leading her towards his friends.
Her future team.
The Ocean View Lounge was amazing. The walls were painted a beautiful light blue, with neat lights shining on the wall that made it look like waves. The bar was completely clear. Elli could see all the beers that sat in the ice chest, all the liquor bottles, and all the glasses that were in the cabinet. There were also built-in fish tanks above the bar. Each table had a bubble in the middle of it that held all kinds of pretty fish. Elli was able to look down into the tank, watching the little fish swim back and forth. It was the only thing keeping Elli entertained since the guys were acting like she was diseased.
Someone came in saying that Elli was Bryan Fisher’s niece and the guys were treating her like she was Bryan Fisher. No one would look her in the eye, and when Shea tried to start up a conversation, no one said anything. It was as if they were nervous to talk about anything in front of Elli because of who her uncle was. It was weird, awkward, and Elli wasn’t having it. She came for a good time and she damn well was going to have one.
Elli slammed her hands against the table, causing everyone to jump as Shea spilled his drink all over the table.
“Okay, guys. Yes, I am Bryan Fisher’s niece, but the guy y'all know isn’t the man I know. The man I know is amazing, sweet, and kind. The guy y'all know is an ass**le. Actually, he was an ass**le to me just a little while ago, since he won’t even let me share a room with my boyfriend. So quit, I’m not him, I don’t care what y’all talk about, I’m just here to drink and have a good time with my boyfriend’s friends. So are y’all gonna live up to the stories I’ve heard or what?”
Everyone looked at each other before they started laughing.
“Fisher won’t let her share a room with her Adler? Guess she’ll have to sleep with me,” Sergei said, causing Shea to give him a look of death.
“Or me. I’m Fisher’s favorite,” Phillip Anderson said. He was the newly added young forward and the only reason Bryan liked Anderson was because he knew that he was going to make him money. The kid could score something crazy. He was already up 26 goals and it was only the first half of the season.
“The hell you say. I’m his favorite!” Sergei argued. And off they went, arguing about who was Fisher’s favorite when, really, Bryan loved Shea. Well, that was before Elli, she really wasn’t sure anymore. Not that it mattered, because she was finally in.
For the next few hours she and the guys hung out, talked about wives, girlfriends, and the awesomeness of hockey. Elli, Shea, Alex Welch, and Sergei were playing pool when Elli noticed a group of girls come into the lounge. It was obvious they were ice bunnies, which is what whores who sleep with hockey players just because they can, are called. They all had about two inches of fabric on and walked with their chest up in the air for God and everyone else to see.
Sergei lasted about two minutes before heading over there, leaving Shea, Alex, and Elli to watch as he flirted with some blonde.
“He’s hopeless,” Alex said as he took a shot.
“He’ll grow out of it,” Shea said, as he took a pull of his beer. Alex laughed as he handed the stick to Elli.
“Before I would have said you’re wrong, but I watched you grow out of it, and I never thought that would happen.”
“Fuck off, Welch. I wasn’t that bad,” Shea said, with a little red dusting his cheeks. Alex let out another chuckle as he looked over at Elli, who was also giggling.
“I think he’s lying.”
“Oh yeah, he is. I know all about his old ways,” Elli teased as Shea came right for her, wrapping her up in his arms, kissing her lips hard. She giggled when they parted.
